Learning Dakelh Fridays!

Cherie Chai invites all SD57 staff to join in with online Dakelh language learning! The Goal is to hear Dakelh spoken in our school hallways!

 

  • Learn Dakelh syntax and grammar through everyday conversational sentences and dialogues.

  • Explore creative ways to teach these phrases to students.

  • Practice pronunciation of the Dakelh alphabet.

  • Sound out Dakelh words correctly.

Indigenous Land-based Fair

This year's activities may include but are not limited to:

  • Animal skinning

  • Salmon science/biology

  • Fishing techniques

  • Fish skin tanning

  • Processing & preserving (smoking, canning, cooking, drying)

  • Plant walk

  • Medicinal plant knowledge (making tea and/or medicine)
